From Death To Life - Week 5

Ephesians 3:14-21 - “Far More In Our Lives”
  • Ephesians 3:20–21 ESV 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
  • Ephesians 1:15–23 ESV 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
  • Ephesians 3:14–21 ESV 14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

  • YOU HAVE ALL THE POWER YOU NEED WHEN YOU REALIZE NONE OF IT COMES FROM YOU.

  • Break It Out:

    1. Share a time when God gave you strength during a time when you felt powerless in the face of life's circumstances.

    2. What was your most important takeaway from Sunday's sermon?
  • Talk it Out:

    3. What do you think it means to be strengthened by the Spirit in your inner being? Have you experienced this? When?

    4. How does Christ dwell in our hearts?

    5. What does it mean to be rooted and established in love?

    6. Do you think it’s possible to grasp how wide, long, high, and deep God’s love is? Why or why not?

    7. What are your thoughts when you read that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine?

    8. How does the fact that God is able to do more than we ask or imagine change the way you pray? The way you live? The risks you take?

    9. When have you seen God do more than you could ever have imagined?

    10. Identify a situation in your life that seems too big even for God to fix or redeem. Reread verses 20–21. Then tell God about this situation. Acknowledge you don’t know how it can be fixed, but you know that he is able.
  • Work It Out:

    11. With God’s Spirit empowering us…God can do far more than we can ask or imagine! What are you asking God to do in your life? How are you trusting him?

    12. How can your small group pray for you? Or is there a prayer request you would like to share with our prayer team? (prayer@verdecc.com)
